?New Opening? ? Sinfonietta Cracovia?s Anniversary Gala will be the first acoustic concert performed

in the ICE Krakw!

On 23rd of November 2014 at 6.00 pm the ICE Krakw Congress Centre will host the first acoustic

symphony concert on the occasion of Sinfonietta Cracovia?s Anniversary Gala ?New Opening?, as

well as the first concert in Cracow performed under the baton of the Orchestra?s new Director, Jurek

Dyba – recognised conductor, popularizer of classical music and member of the famous Vienna

Philharmonic.

The anniversary celebration will provide an opportunity to listen to one of the most talented harpists

of present times, Xavier de Maistre, who will perform for the first time in Cracow. The French

virtuoso soloist and the only harpist to have signed an exclusive contract with RCA/Sony Classical

label collaborates on a regular basis with Wiener Philharmoniker, Chicago Symphony Orchestra and

Orchestre de Paris, and performs under the baton of such conductors as Simon Rattle, Andre Previn

and Riccardo Muti. In the ICE Krakw, together with Sinfonietta Cracovia directed by Jurek Dyba,

he will play – surprisingly ? the original version for harp and orchestra of Joaqun Rodrigo?s famous

Concierto de Aranjuez.

Sinfonietta Cracovia, founded due to the support of Krzysztof Penderecki, will celebrate its 20th

anniversary on Maestro?s birthday and play his compositions under his direction! ?Sinfonietta is a

superb ensemble, distinctively close to me. I look forward to sharing the joy of celebration? ? said

Krzysztof Penderecki. The works of Maestro, belonging to the regular repertoire of Sinfonietta, this

time will be presented in an extraordinary way ? as a dance and multimedia performance prepared by

Daniel Stryjecki.

Dancer and choreographer Daniel Stryjecki, following his success at the Polityka?s Passport Gala,

prepared an original, ?Hallo? effect, dance and multimedia performance for Krzysztof Penderecki?s

Anaklasis.

?I very much look forward to listening to Maestro?s avant-garde music combined with new media. I

expect this form of presentation to be more appealing to the audience, especially young people, and to

encourage them to listen to high-quality music? – said Jurek Dyba, new Director of Sinfonietta.

The concert will feature the performance of one of the greatest classical hits – Antonin Dvok?s

Symphony No. 9 ?From the New World?. It will be conducted by Orchestra?s new Director Jurek Dyba.

The Symphony?s subtitle corresponds to the title of the gala – ?New Opening? – as it is related to

Sinfonietta?s new artistic season and image planned by its new management.

The 20thanniversary celebration will be held under the honorary patronage of Jacek Majchrowski, the

Mayor of the City of Cracow.
